Michael Dale Chavis (Mike) was born October 1, 1956, in Morven, NC to the late Clinton and Bertha Cash Chavis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clinton Chavis, Jr. and Mitchell Chavis, and a special cousin who was like a brother, Kuba Lee Cash.
Mike was a 1974 graduate of High Point Central High School. He joined Mount Vernon Baptist Church in High Point, NC at a young age. He loved fitness and was an avid football and basketball fan.
Those who will share and cherish his memories are his sisters, Rose Chavis Ingram of Charlotte NC, and Ann Ringer (Thomas) of Durham, NC.; a beloved niece, Kamili Ayanna Chavis, of Charlotte, NC.; a nephew who was raised in the home, Roderick Ingram of Charlotte, NC, his great nephew, who held the key to his heart, Kammyron Parker of Charlotte, NC.; special cousins, Marion Kersey (Elizabeth), of Polkton, NC and Lewis Bittle of Brockton, MA, and best friend since childhood, Gary Walker of Fayetteville, NC. One sister-in-law, Queenie Chavis of Candor, NC, along with many cousins, friends, and other relatives who loved him.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
