James, known as Earl to most, passed away peacefully at his residence on April 13, 2024. Earl was the beloved son of the late Tenis and Barbara Robinson and was born in Marlboro County, SC.
Earl, a man of unique character, was a beacon of love and care, always looking out for everyone. His pure and kind heart was a source of inspiration for many. Known by endearing nicknames like Earl the Pearl, Dap D, Dap Daddy, etc., he was a blessed man who lived a long and prosperous life. His natural, hardworking, and devoted nature earned him respect from all who knew him. His presence, filled with laughter and joy, will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to bring smiles and warmth to our hearts. Earl spent over 50 years with his late soulmate, Carrie Wright.
He also shared a special bond with his siblings, his late sister, Thelma Robinson and his late brother, Otis Robinson. His love for his family was a sentiment and a guiding principle in his life. His family, forever touched by his love, will cherish his memory. Earl retired from the City of High Point after working there for more than 21 years. He put his blood, sweat, and tears into his job. He was a very dedicated person, and he loved good conversations. One thing for sure is that he would make you laugh. Earl leaves many memories; his family and friends will always remember his presence. He loved being outside and spent much time there. Whether sitting out on the porch or riding to the store, he found joy in being out in nature. He was a tough soldier, and he endured a lot. Later in life, Earl’s health started to decline, but it didn’t stop his laughter and jokes, and he continued to smile through it all.
Earl leaves to cherish his memories his son, Donald Robinson (Linda); stepdaughter, Carrie Thompson; stepson, Leroy Wright (Phyllis); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
