James Bernard Lowery made his transition from this life on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Atrium Wake Forest High Point Medical Center. He was born on June 26, 1963 in High Point, NC, a son of Joann Parson Lowery and James H. Myers. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Ruth Jackson (who raised him), and Irene Tatum and Abraham Parson; a sister, Hazel Lowery Saunders; a brother, Duron Garnet Lowery; and a stepmother, Carolyn Myers.
Fondly known to family and friends as โTigerโ, James attended the public schools of Guilford County, and was a graduate of High Point Central High School, Class of 1981. In high school, Tiger played football and wrestling, winning many awards, trophies and certificates. He loved to cook, until his health failed in 2006. Tiger was loved by many. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish loving memories, his parents, Joan Lowery and James Myers; two sons, Matthew Lowery and Brock Lowery; two grandchildren, Iheem and Izryn Lowery; five brothers, John W. Lowery, John T. Lowery, Jacal Myers, Michael Myers, and Kenny McCloud; five sisters, Mildred Martin, Helen Byers, Sandra (Daniel) Creft, Angela Lowery, and Deloris McCollum; the mother of his sons, Sharon Holmes; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
