Mr. Grant Blocker, Jr. departed this life on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. He was born on November 2, 1937, in High Point, NC, to the late Grant Blocker, Sr. and Ollie Craven Blocker.
He attended the High Point City Schools. Years later, he relocated to Chadbourn, NC, eager to explore new opportunities and embrace new experiences. In Chadbourn, he secured a position at Georgia Pacific, a well-known company in the industry. After dedicating many years of hard work and commitment to the company, he eventually retired, leaving a remarkable legacy defined by his dedication and strong work ethic.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Blocker; son, Larry Donnell Blocker; his siblings, Isabell Blocker Cobb, Alberta Blocker Singleton, Annie Beatrice Blocker Leach, Clara Mae Blocker Sawyers, and Scotland Blocker; stepmother, Lena Blocker.
Leaving to cherish his memories: Roslyn Blocker, Sharon Blocker, Iris Blocker Blakely and Rhonda Blocker Oboh (Felix), Jo Stephens, Johnny Stephens (Tracy), Maurice Stephens, Cynthia Stephens, and Terry Stephens; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park.
