Obituary For Mr. David Morton

Mr. David Jerome Morton, Sr., was born September 6, 1953 in Atlantic City, NJ to the late Mildred and J. Fred Morton. The third child of four children, David was a quiet man, but his smile spoke volumes. David was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred West Morton and Julius Fred Morton; his oldest brother, Ronald Morton; grandmother, Mary West; aunts, Barbara West and Betty Manning; grandfather, Arthur West.

After a long battle with heart complications, God called David home on Monday, June 15, 2020 at The Shannon Gray Rehabilitation and Recovery Center in Jamestown, NC.

Those left to cherish his memories are; his children, David Morton, Jr. of Atlantic City, NJ, Christopher Morton of Northfield, NJ, Francine Gayle of Atlantic City, NJ, Christine Morton and Michael Morton of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Jaidyn Morton, Ayanna, Christopher, Jr., and Aveyan Morton; sisters, Susan (Lionel) Watt of Charlotte, NC and Donna Morton of Jamestown, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A private funeral will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Mr. Morton may be viewed on Monday, June 22, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel.
