The Lord called Casey Harrington home in a peaceful manner at the Beacon Place Hospice Home in Greensboro, NC on Thursday, February 4, 2021, in his 78th year of life. He was born August 12, 1942, a son of the late Joe and Charlotte Harrington. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mozelle Alston Harrington; his siblings, Ruby McClendon (Doll), Sam Harrington, Elnora Pratt (Bobby), Eliza Spencer (Tom), Henry Harrington, Monroe Harrington (Thomasine).
Born in Morven, NC and reared in Wadesboro, NC, Casey spent his life as a God-fearing man who loved the Lord. He had a long-standing relationship with God and was very blessed with his faith until his dying breath. He was an honored and dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church of High Point, NC, where Amos L. Quick, III is the Pastor.
Hard work was the cornerstone of Casey’s life. He spent much of his adult life (35 years) at Woodmark Originals. Soon after he started, he became the best “Webber” in the company. After retirement, he would get calls from current employees asking how to perform certain tasks. The calls stopped when he told them it would cost for additional information. He took just as much pride in his landscaping business in which he thoroughly enjoyed for over 32 years.
He was the architect of what a father should be, to his children, as they traversed into the adults they have become. Although his wife, Mozelle, was the nucleus, he was the foundation on which his family was built. There were no uncertainties when it came to providing the necessities for his family. He genuinely lived his life to the fullest. He was loved by his family and closest friends. He was valued by a countless number of his landscaping clients.
A second vacancy (in seven months) is now in the hearts of his family, loved ones and friends. He will be tremendously missed by his children, Katrina Parson, Casey (Tonia), Kenan (Jean) and Leevon O; he was honored to be entitled “grandfather” to Jermaine, Latasha (Katrina), Ryan (Casey), DeMont, Darren, Keisha, Kenitra, Kenan II (Kenan), and Darius, Julia, Javonte (Leevon O.); he valued his role to a host of great-grandchildren; his loving sisters and brothers, Leola Marshall (Jasper), Wincy Harrington, Johnny Harrington, and Cleveland Harrington; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A private funeral service will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. Mr. Harrington may be viewed on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
