Obituary For Mitchell Fredrick Taylor, Jr.

Mr. Mitchell Fredrick Taylor, Jr., 67, passed away November 18, 2021. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 9, 1954, the son of the late Edith Taylor and Fredrick Taylor, Sr.

After receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Navy in 1972, Mitchell continued and excelled with his education, teaching music education at Webster University and receiving a Master of Education degree at Lindenwood University, and his Master’s degree in Performing Arts from Webster University.

As a member of the San Francisco Opera, Mitchell was a committed patron to the performing arts community, devoting his time to educating students in a wide range of music from voice & piano lessons to theory in the classroom. He retired from the STL School District in 1998.

Mitchell leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Sagon Taylor, Whitney Johnson, and Maria Taylor; two grandsons; special cousins, Julie and Joele; very special friends, Maurice, Mrs. Betty, and Maryland; and a host of family, extended family, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel.
