Minnie McDuffie Staton passed away peacefully at her home, February 25, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Preston McDuffie Sr., and Mary London McDuffie. A longtime resident of High Point, NC.
Minnie attended Guilford County Schools and received her GED from GTCC in High Point, NC. Before her retirement, she worked as a cook in different establishments, the last being the head cook for Gilbarco in Greensboro, NC. She was a dedicated member as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Minnie had a passion for reading, of which she passed down the love to her daughters. She loved reading, especially her Bible, and watchtowers. She enjoyed being at home, watching TV and spending time with her grandkids. She also had a lifelong dedication to ministering and serving Jehovah as a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall.
Minnie was an exceptional mother, grandmother, and caretaker to many. Her unwavering dedication to being a wonderful person is a testament of her kindness and selflessness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Clarence (Bopete) Staton; mother-in-law, Lethia Staton; and her two sons, Larry Staton and Donnie Ray Staton; a grandson, Larry Campbell; great granddaughter, Ally Rae Campbell; great grandson; Ishmael Staton; sister Pressie Lee Lyles; brother, Rocky Lee McDuffie; a son-in-law, Tony Campbell.
Her precious memories will be kept alive by sons, Willie McDuffie (Deborah) and Leon Staton; two daughters, Arlethea Campbell and Mary Staton Patterson (Louis); brothers, Preston McDuffie Jr. (Yshevia), Dick T. McDuffie, Grip McDuffie; sisters, Mary Lee Barrier, Sharon D`Antignac (Capers), Robbie Evans and Rosa McDuffie; a very special granddaughter, Leona Lee Staton; and a host of other grands and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, Cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held Monday, March 4, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
Dearest Family, I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and I extend to you all my deepest condolences and my love. May God continue to be an ever present help to each of you, and my prayer is that your hearts will be comforted during this difficult time and in the times to come.
