Lucy Marjorie Brand was called to her eternal resting place on September 26, 2024. She was born in McColl, SC, on November 30, 1975, the daughter of Lauretter Brand.
Lucy attended the public schools in McColl, SC, and later moved to High Point, NC, where she attended High Point Central, graduating with the class of 1994. She graduated from Brookstone College as a certified medical assistant (CMA) and earned a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from Herzing University. Additionally, she received training in Medical Billing and Coding at GTCC. Lucy dedicated 24 years to Cone Health LeBauer Primary Care, where both colleagues and patients loved her. She also worked part-time for two years at Skeet Club Harris Teeter.
Lucy was preceded in death by her grandparents, BJ and Annie Mae Brand; her brother, Gerald Brand; her sister, Faye Brand; uncles, Lawrence, Dot Lee, and Secoyah Brand, Sr. (Maxine); cousins, Willie Cook, Gary Brand, and Secoyah Brand, Jr., and nephew, Tarrance Campbell.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Tysheen Brand-Haywood and Jamiya Brand-Chapman, both of the home; her beloved dog, Sal Brand; her pride and joy grandson, Zyleek (Stank) Brand; mother, Lauretter (Sue) Brand of High Point, NC; stepfather, Willie (Elsie) Malachi of High Point, NC; brothers, Terry (Tonya) Brand, Darcey (Rena) Malachi both of High Point, NC; sister, Yolanda (Michael) Drake of McColl, SC; Verlich (Clarence) Campbell of High Point, NC; Lisa Junious of High Point, NC; sister and best friend, Cassandra (Sonn) Christian-Taylor of High Point, NC; one sister-in-law, Cecilia (Faye) Brand of Stockbridge, Georgia; uncle, Deacon Ezzard (Aline) York of McColl, S.C; one special aunt, Lola Brand of Raeford, NC; two bonus aunts, Gwendoly Malachi and Jeanette Malachi both of High Point, NC; god sister, Lashonda Brown of High Point, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special Honor to Cousin Carl Brand. Lucy often referred to her cousin as a father figure, uncle, big brother, humble, and a man of God. Whatever she needed, Lucy would say, βCall Carlβ because he was reliable and a man of his word. He was there for every appointment and every treatment. She always knew she could depend on Carl, with the support of his wife, Brenda.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Lisa,
please accept our deepest condolences in the loss of your sister.
Deepest sympathy to Lucy's family & everyone who she impacted. I attended Central High with her briefly. Years later, we both attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was so kind and a very strong & individual. I remember how she fought & beat breast cancer years ago. I always admired her endurance, positivity, & sweet spirit. May God always watch over her kids and grandchild. Prayers to the family as you navigate your grief journey.

I have known Lucy for over 2 decades, and had her as my nurse assistant for the past few years. Her positive attitude made it a pleasure to work with her. It was hard watching her fight cancer, but almost until the last day she would still come and care for her patients no matter how sick she felt herself. I admired her fortitude and her selfless dedication to caring for others. Cancer ravaged Lucy's body, but it didn't kill her spirit. I will always cherish my fond memories of Lucy. My deepest condolences to the family. Dr Plotnikov
