Gary Wayne Kindle departed this life on April 28, 2022 at WFBH High Point Medical Center. He was born on August 8, 1956, the son of the late Thelmo Kindle, Sr. and Sadie Maxwell Kindle. He’s reunited with his siblings; Daryll Allen, Terry Kindle, Kay LaVern Allen, Johnny Kindle and Thelmo Kindle, Jr.
Gary “Whop” graduated from High Point Central High School and continued his education at Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC). He was trained at GTCC with a certification in welding, working at Mickey Truck Bodies for over 20 years. Whop ended his working career at Hendrix Batting in 2020. Whop was a BIG personality with a BIG smile and voice that would light up any room.
Surviving to cherish and honor Gary “Whop” Kindle’s memories are his loving and supportive wife of 22 years, Mrs. Gwendolyn Kindle; his children, LaKeisha (Shadon) McAuley of Charlotte NC, Darius (Jacqueline) Mackey of Woodbury, MN, Gary (Shantel) Mackey of St. Paul, MN; grandchildren, Naziah, Khaleel, Kaitlyn, Gabe, Victoria, Jackson; siblings, Linda Allen, Thelma Cheek, Kimberly Michael, Penelope Kindle, David Kindle, Maurice (Sharon) Kindle, and Bobby Kindle; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
