William J. Hairston, Jr. “Trigger”, 90 of Stoneville, NC passed February 12, 2022. A Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. Saturday, February 19,2022 at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Sharon Baptist Church, Stoneville, NC with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Stoneville Memorial Cemetery, Stoneville, NC.

In God’s infinite wisdom, he saw fit to called home William Jack Hairston Jr. “Trigger” from labor to reward on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Hospice of Rockingham County.
William was born on August 14, 1931, in Fieldale, Virginia to the late Shirley and Margaret Coles. He was a graduate of the Henry County Training School in 1949. Upon his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. At the end of his military service, he was employed at The Philadelphia Times. After relocating to North Carolina, he worked for Henry County Plywood, then later worked for Stoneville Furniture where he retired.
William will always be remembered by his unconditional love for his family, friends, his passion for reading the local newspaper and his love for music, while also being an adamant fan of the Carolina Tar Heels, Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years Mabel S. Hairston, a brother Leroy Hairston and sister Gladys Chapman.
He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory: four loving sons; Jack Hairston(Cheryl), Leon Hairston (Gloria), Jerome Hairston, Blair Hairston (Tameka), five beautiful daughters; Sherlene Hairston, Marlene Hairston, Evelyn Lowe (Randy), Anita Settle, Nellie Hairston; special daughter; Tabatha, fifteen grandchildren; Damian (Rachel), Tiara, Scherria, Kiara, K’sime, Terrence, K’saun , Denzel , Tia, Greyson, CJ, Rhami, Tony (Jessica), Dominique (Shantrice), Deran (Janet), Brandon (Tosha), Jontae, thirteen great grandchildren, two sisters; Bessie Starkie and Hortensia Washington; two brother in laws; William Spencer (Geneva), John Spencer (Mary); three lifelong friends; Lynn Scales, Aaron Dalton, Wesley Braham, as well as a host of relatives and friends.
