William Goolsby, 73 of Walnut Cove, NC passed Friday, January 24, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Mary D. Perry Memorial Chapel of Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC. Inurnment will follow at Withers Chapel Church Cemetery, 2793 Pine Hall Road, Walnut Cove, NC .
William Craven Goolsby, son of the late Chester Goolsby and the late Bernice Miller Goolsby was born October 12, 1951 in Stokes County. He departed this life on January 24, 2025, at his home.
William graduated from Stokes County High School, Walnut Cove, NC in the Class of 1969. He was at RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company, Winston Salem, NC and Duke Energy for many years.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Larry Goolsby, Douglas Goolsby and Edward Goolsby.
William leaves behind: His wife; Patricia Smith Goolsby of Oxford, NC. Sons; Michael Goolsby of Durham, NC and Corey M. Goolsby of Kannapolis, NC. Stepchildren; Brandy Clark of Jacksonville, FL and Deon Clark of Winston Salem, NC. Three sisters; Elaine Goolsby, Becky Boston and Jackie Taylor along with two brothers; Jessie Goolsby and Don Perry Gilliam all of Walnut Cove, NC. along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
