Pete Hampton, Jr. 74 of Eden, NC passed Saturday, October 14, 2023. Public viewing will be held from 12:00 noon โ 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, Eden, NC.
Pete Sale Hampton, Jr. was born on April 9, 1949 to the late Pete Hampton Sr. and Cannie Sheffield Hampton. He departed this world on October 14, 2023.
Pete was educated in the Rockingham County School system where he attended Morehead High School in Eden, NC. He worked at Draper Mill before starting his career at Dupont. The last few years he worked at Tri-City Ford delivering automobiles.
He loved to drive and knew the route. Pete was a kindhearted person who spent time browsing the local stores, going to the races, and checking in on family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years; Pamela Hampton, brother; Johnny Jack
Hampton and two sisters, Rosabell Hampton Phillips and Annie Mae Fuller as well as other in laws and family members.
Left to cherish his memories: A son; Roderick Hampton of Orlando, FL and daughter; Coshenda Clark of Greensboro, NC, a brother; Harvey Hampton (Mattie) of Eden, NC, sister in law; Vanessa Smith of Greensboro, NC, brother in law; Gerry Clark (Mell) of Reidsville, NC, six grandchildren; Courtney and Mashaela Moffitt of Greensboro, NC and Tyโleah, Nijayla and Dumarius Hampton of Eden, NC, Jayven Baize of Greensboro, NC and a host of loving nieces, nephews and long-time friends.
