Michael Jerome Smith, 50 of Walnut Cove, NC passed Tuesday, November 11, 2024. Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, 402 Short Avenue, Madison, NC . The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Baileytown Christian Church, 1163 Baileytown Church Road, Walnut Cove, NC. The service will begin at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Walnut Cove, NC.

Michael “Jerome” Smith, born to Pastor Michael W. King and Marsha Smith on December 10, 197 He was a member of New London Primitive Baptist Church. Baptized at an early age. Graduated from South Stokes High School. He served in the United States Navy. Jerome was a very passionate fitness trainer. He absolutely love the gym. That is where you could always find him. He had a sense of humor like no other. He just didn't tolerate the “oke doke”. You had to come correct, or he would correct you if you were wrong. He was always writing the vision for the future, food plans, He was a true believer in the Lord. His favorite scriptures were Psalms 91, and Psalms 23. He absolutely lived by the word. He undeniably loved his children; He is guarded by many angels that were there to welcome him home. He ran the race and stood the course. He will be affectionally missed by many. To know him was to love him.

Brothers; Jalando King, Dewayne Ashburn both of Walnut Cove, NC, Nephew; Julius Smith, Jontae Ashburn, Niece; Ariela Ashburn, Aunts; Ada Linster (Willie), Lila Smith, Sudie Brown (Tony), Barbara Smith, Evangelist Ellen Givens (John), Linda Galloway, Jane King, Sandra King. Uncles; Randall Smith, Curtis Smith, Donald Smith, Hallard King, Great Aunts; Oliva Bowman, Zenobia Penn, Lucille Sapp, Darlene Smith, Priscilla Smith. A host of special cousins, family and friends. Mike was like the big brother that I never had.. It saddens me that he's gone but the wisdom and memories that we shared will stay with me forever... Just got the news of your passing and it doesn't seem real.. Rest peacefully

I am just learning of this and I am very sad. Thank You for the conversations that we had and gracing me with a lot of your knowledge and wisdom. I will miss you and I hate that I didn't get a change to say good-bye.
