Michael D. Bibbs Jr., 38, of Dunmore died July 17, 2020. Graveside service will be held 12 noon Friday, July 31, 2020 at Collins Cemetery, Madison, NC.
Michael was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 1, 1982. Our Lord called Michael home on July 17, 2020. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Shirley Biggers and paternal grandparents Albert and Laura Bibbs Jr. Michael graduated from Baldwin Senior High School where he excelled in Automotive Technology. Because of his hard work and dedication throughout his high school years he was awarded the Thomas Roth Jr., Memorial Award, presented by the Baldwin Fire Department Hose Company 3. Michael applied and was accepted to Penn State for his Automotive Technology Degree in August 2000. Michael moved to Pennsylvania where he continued his automotive talents working for first a major automotive chain store and later for two prominent car dealerships in Pennsylvania in their parts department. Michael was an avid fisherman who could not wait to get his fishing license every year to go out on the lake and catch a few big ones with friends. Michael also enjoyed entering in demolition derby events under the name “Black Mamba”. Michael won 3rd place in August 2020 and was looking forward to winning the 1st place trophy this year. Michael was a keen marksman and collector. He was also one-half owner of D & M Scrap Metal & Recycling in Scranton PA. “Jr” as his mother called him was the light in everyone’s orbit, he never left a location without making friends. He was that lovable, funny, and helpful guy that everyone loved. Michael is survived by his mother; Crystal L. Screen of NC, his father; Michael D. Bibbs Sr (Rachel) of PA. his brother; Christian Screen of NC, sister; Laura Bibbs of PA and nephew; Josiah Screen of NC. Aunts; Deborah Biggers, Stefanie Strachan, Anna Bibbs-Rodriquez (Jose) of NY, Elizabeth Thomas of GA, uncle; Armond Biggers (Gwendolyn) of NC. Cousins; Ernest “Bill” Garrison of NC, Tashi Stachan, Chinasa Strachan, Frank Strachan Jr. of NY and many relatives and friends. He will be missed by all.
