Mr. Michael Broadnax, 50, of Eden, NC, died August 11, 2019. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2019 at Piedmont District of Christian Churches Center, Wentworth, NC. Burial will be in Eden Garden Cemetery, Eden, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m to 2:30 p.m. at the Piedmont District Churches Center, Wentworth, NC.
Michael Broadnax, born December 15, 1968 to Sheila Diane Broadnax and the late George H. Broadnax. He departed this life on Sunday, August 11, 2019. Michael, affectionately called “Mike” resided in Rockingham County and was educated in the Rockingham County School System. Mike worked at Unifi and Scotty’s Home Cleaning Service. He was a member of Smyrna Holiness Church and like his brother, Kenny, had a joyful spirit. He loved everybody, especially his family. He also loved fishing, cooking and cleaning. Mike was also preceded in death by his sister, Kimberly Broadnax, niece, Kimberly Broadnax and his brother, Kenny Broadnax. Left to cherish his memories: his mother; Sheila Wells (Jerry) of Eden, NC, grandmother; Pattie Broadnax of Wentworth, NC, brothers; Harold Broadnax (Carolyn), Wilbur Broadnax (Pam) both of Eden, NC, George Broadnax (Angela), Chris Broadnax both of Wentworth, NC, Tyrone Broadnax (Marva) of Belews Creek, NC, sister; Tonia Surratt of Stoneville, NC, uncles; Roy Thompson (Mildred), James Thompson both of Eden, NC, Doug Broadnax of Wentworth, NC, aunts; Bettie Grant (Walter) of Wentworth, NC, Delna Watts of Eden, NC, great aunts; Sarah Ray of Eden, NC, Elsie Mock (French) of Columbus, OH, a special bond with Jamauri Scales, niece; Aaron Martin, (nephew), Trinity Galloway-Broadnax (niece) and Grayson Mansfield (nephew) and a very special friend and “brother”, Gregory Van Putten. He also had special nephews; George Martin, Jimmy Martin, Gavin Webb and Marcus Broadnax, special nieces; Faye Martin, Chelsea Broadnax and Alyssa Martin, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
So hard to believe that I lost both of you so close together. Even though we wasn't blood kin, we have all been family for years. Missing you guys.
I knew Micheal half of my life . He was a very sweet and affectionate person . He seemed to be happy all the time , always had a smile and a laugh to cheer you up if you were down . He will be greatly missed . I already miss him . I'll carry his memory forever with me in my heart . Julie Mitchell
