Mckenzie Lynette Duncan, 55 of Winston Salem, NC passed Saturday, February 22, 2025. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday February 26, 2024, at Baileytown Christian Church, 1163 Baileytown Christian Church Road, Walnut Cove, NC. with the service beginning at 2:00 pm.
McKenzie Lynette Duncan was born on January 21, 1970, in Winston Salem, North Carolina to mother, Linda King Galloway and father, Joseph Duncan, Sr. She departed this life on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at her home in Winston Salem, NC.
McKenzie joined Baileytown Church at an early age. Sung in the Youth Choir and attended Stokes County Schools. McKenzie worked at various jobs and was working at Parkdale in Walnut Cove when she became ill.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Averee Galloway.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: Along with her mother and father, two daughters, Whitney Duncan of Winston Salem, NC and Shaquita Duncan of Walnut Cove, NC. Three brothers; Wesley Duncan (Darlene) of Walnut Cove, NC, Joseph Duncan, Jr. Eden, NC. and Elbert Galloway, Jr Kernersville, NC. Two sisters; Leslie Duncan, Walnut Cove NC and Neopia Duncan, Winston Salem NC. Six grandchildren; My’morri Hall, Winston Salem, Jer’miah Leach, Nah’zaleah Leach, Ja’hir Duncan Ka’brielle Duncan and Kah’moirra Duncan of Walnut Cove NC. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.

I have had the opportunity to see Mrs. Duncan several times and had the opportunity to talk with her briefly when she would come to her appointments, and she always seemed to be in good spirits and had a smile on her face. She will truly be missed by us all.
Rest well my friend. I am so happy that I got the opportunity to meet you, you were such an amazing Woman that I'll never forget. You were charismatic, outspoken, loving, funny and loud but very loving. Thank you for the laughs and for allowing me into your life. It was about 1980 1982 when my family became familia with MacKenzie AKA 'RAT' She and my Sister were in the same school system and through their friendship I was blessed to meet such a beautiful person.
