Mary Armstead Olverson, 88 of Eden, NC passed Saturday February 22, 2025. Public viewing will be held Saturday March 1, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, 511 Henry St. Eden, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, Eden. The Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Interment at Hairston’s Cemetery 174 Shady Grove Rd. Eden, NC
Mary Armstead Olverson, aka “Mother O” was born April 15, 1936 in Franklin County, Virginia to the late John N. and Victoria A. Olverson. She departed this life at her home Saturday, February 22, 2025.
Also preceded in death was three brothers: John Olverson, George Olverson and Jack Brooks. Two sisters; Surmantha Brooks and Martha Artis.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her son; Lacy Samuel Petty Olverson, sister; Sarah O.L.W. Manns, niece; Timple Olverson aka Baby Girl. Along with other nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

When we met 18 years ago she and I bonded with a strong loving friendship. I loved being a part of her life and yours and mother Sarah. You all are in my prayers. Mother Olversom, you will be truly missed I loved you as my own you where a mother, grandmother, aunt and sister you never met a stranger you were a true woman of God, when you lived down here in the stone Creek Apartments I could always talk to you, we thank God for knowing a great friend like you, gone but never will be forgotten.
