Karen Smith,59 of Eden, NC passed Saturday, March 8, 2025. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025 at the McDaniel Family Cemetery (Log Town), 109 Mars Drive, Axton, VA.
Karen McDaniel Smith was born May 8, 1965 to the late Lonnie C. and Ioma Perkins McDaniel. She departed this life Saturday, March 8, 2025.
Karen attended Irisburg Elementary School and Laurel Park High School. She graduated with her GED from Rockingham Community College, Wentworth, NC.
Karen grew up in Logtown, VA. She was a devoted wife to Timothy Smith, for over 15 years. A loving mother of three, a caring grandmother of four, she was also a beloved sister, a cool auntie and cherished friend. Karen was a member of Miracles N’ Motion Ministries of Martinsville, VA under the leadership of Pastor Reginald Goods.
Karen was also preceded in death by her son, Jemelle “Mushu” McDaniel and brother, Lonnie R. “Button” McDaniel.
She leaves to cherish her memory: here husband, Timothy Smith of Eden, NC, son, O’Brian McDaniel and daughter, Miqwesha Smith both of Eden, NC. Miqwesha was also her mother’s caregiver until she peacefully passed away. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Destynee, Nayara, Nakai and Journi all of Eden, NC. She was also survived by 3 sisters: Beverly Terry (Clarence deceased) of Axton, VA, Crystal Caddle of Myrtle Beach, SC and Sherrie McDaniel of Eden, NC. One brother, Desbee “Baldy” McDaniel (Deneatra) of Greensboro, NC. Nephews; Eric Terry (Renee) of Rocky Mount, VA, Mikel Smith of Eden, NC and Dezbee McDaniel of Raleigh, NC. Neices; Torikae Terry of Axton, VA, Tiara Jackson of Martinsville, VA and Jazmin McDaniel of Graham, NC, along with other relatives & friends.
