Elder Dewey Marvin “Ben” Lowe, 87 of Browns Summit, NC passed Saturday, November 23, 2024. Public viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, 402 Short Avenue, Madison, NC . The family will be greeting friends also on Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The “Celebration of Life” will begin at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 1, 2024, at St. Thomas Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 633 NC Highway 150 W. Greensboro, NC. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park 3600 O. Henry Blvd. Greensboro, NC.

Elder Dewey Marvin Lowe, affectionately called “Ben”, Daddy, Papa, Elder and friend, was born December 26, 1936, in Rockingham County, North Carolina, to the late Willie Andrew Lowe and Annie Beatrice Joyner Lowe. God, in his infinite wisdom, saw fit to transition from labor to reward, Elder Lowe, early Saturday morning November 23, 2024. at the age of 87 in the comfort of his home in Browns Summit, NC.

Ben, a native of Madison, NC, received his education in Rockingham County. On May 7, 1960, he entered into holy matrimony with Evelyn DeLois Glenn. Together, they were blessed with four daughters: Terry, Yaulanda, Tonya and Veronica. Their family grew further with the addition of two spiritual sons, Tony and Tyson. Later, Ben and Evelyn proudly embraced the roles of Papa and Nana to their beloved grandchildren: Brooks, Bryant, Kristin, Justin, Lynnea and Zachary.

Ben served his country with honor in the United States Army as part of the 50th Infantry, 2nd Armored Division, known as “Hell on Wheels”, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. During his service, he excelled as a Sharpshooter (Rifle) and Expert (Gunner Light Machine Gun 30 Caliber), earning the Good Conduct Medal for his dedication and skill.

Ben dedicated his life to faith and service, becoming a Minister at New Light Refuge Temple and later being ordained as an Elder of Evangelical Saints Church. He was a hardworking man, and he balanced his ministry with his career and passion for farming. He was employed at the Throwing Plant, later renamed Burlington Industries, before he retiring from Gilbarco after 25 years of dedication service. In his free time, he found joy in fishing, hunting, gardening and building.

Ben was a quiet man, blessed with many talents and a profound faith. He had a deep love for God and took great pleasure in studying and teaching His Word. As both a minister and a farmer, Ben embraced the understanding that death is not the end but a transition to a new beginning. This unwavering belief leaves a priceless gift and enduring legacy of faith, love, and courage for his daughters and grandchildren.

Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn DeLois Glenn Lowe; parents, Willie Andrew Lowe and Annie Beatrice Joyner Lowe; brother, Willie Andrew Lowe, Jr.; and three sisters, Ruby Pauline Bennett, Virginia Beatrice Frazier and Mattie Hayes.

He leaves to cherish his memory; daughters, Terry Lowe Dickerson of the home, Yaulanda Lowe Blue (Oliver) of Mebane, NC, Tonya Lowe McAdoo of Greensboro, NC and Veronica Lowe of Browns Summit, NC; brothers, Walter Lee Lowe (Linda) of Madison, NC, Lonnie Lowe of Madison, NC, and Wayne Lowe (Gloria) of Madison, NC, sisters, Carolyn Tucker (Jim) of Whitsett, NC and Glenda Gooch (James) of Oxford, NC; grandchildren, Brooks Blue of Charlotte, NC, Bryant McAdoo of Charlotte, NC, Kristin Blue of Morrisville, NC, Justin Blue of Charlotte, NC, Lynnea Dickerson of the home and Zachary Dickerson of Clemons, NC; spiritual sons, Tony Banks of Browns Summit, NC and Tyson Marshall (Tracee) of Suffolk, VA; great-grandchildren, John Brooks Blue and Vanessa Jo Blue. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, co-workers and church family.
