Obituary For Andrew Leon Dalton

Andrew Leon “Ricky" Dalton, 69 of Stoneville, NC passed Saturday, July 20, 2024. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, Stoneville, NC with funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Stoneville Community Cemetery, Stoneville, NC.

Andrew Leon Dalton “Ricky” was born in Rockingham County to the late Raymond Dalton and Marion Dalton. He departed this life on July 20, 2024. Ricky was a Veteran of the United States Marines. After serving his country, he worked in construction and helped others who needed it.

Ricky cherished the simple joys in life, such as spending time with family and friends at the "low end and on the back street” in Stoneville. His love for crossword puzzles, Slim Jim’s, and charms blow pops were well-known among his loved ones. Ricky was also a pool shark with an exceptional talent for playing pool. He had the capability to draw you into a game only to showcase his remarkable skills.

Ricky had a unique gift of making you laugh and sometimes mad at the same time, but no matter what, you always knew he had your back. He attended church with his family in his early years and recently rededicated his life to Jesus Christ, reaffirming his faith.

Ricky was also preceded in death by two siblings, Eric Dalton and Derrick Dalton, and a very close friend, Charlette Willis Hairston.

Ricky's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Ricky leaves to cherish his memories: son, Raymon Brown, Asheboro, NC; daughter, Jennifer Brown, Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Reggie Dalton (Kim) of Lexington, NC; sister; Vernette Dalton, Eden, NC; 2 grandchildren, Tenisha Brown and Raejunna Brown. His loving aunts; Margaret Ann Martin (Joe), Ruby Martin, Mary Alice Mention all of Stoneville, NC, and Alberta Watkins of Rural Hall, NC, uncles; Aaron Dalton and James (Gen) Scales, both of Stoneville, NC. He will also be dearly missed by his two close cousins who were like siblings, Jamal Mention, Greensboro, NC, and Angela Mahoney, Greensboro, NC, and a host of other relatives and friends.
