Words seen so inadequate during these times. However, I must express my sincere joy and delight having crossed paths with Rev. Dr. Michael McLean. He and I both matriculated beneath the maples and oaks of Livingstone College. We were in the Prayer Meeting Choir together both of us tenors. We shared rooms together as we traveled with the choir. We laughed toghether, prayed together and yes even sometimes cryed together. Year have passed and we finally got to see each other at the December graduation of Livingstone Students. Oh the delight for us to rekindle our frienship once we saw each other again. Little did I know it would be the last time we hugged and greeted one another. But God's plans are not our plans. I want to extend to entire family my deepest condolences to you. May God strengthen and keep you during your hour of bereavement. " Let Not your Heart be trouble,..... In my Father's house there are many a mansion..... SIP my brother. We all loved you, but God loved you best.

It's funny how God plants. He took flowers from around the world and placed them together at Livingstone College. Those flowers thrived together in harmony ( Prayer Meeting Choir) as they sung beautiful music throughout the South, North, and Mid-Western States, being a blessing to all who heard our melodious voices. I will always remember you as a dear friend and brother. Sleep on my brother. Take your rest until that great day that the King of Kings and Lord of Lord's shall return.

My dear Pastor, I will forever think of the lessons taught and discussions made over the years. Your family is my family but you also told me and taught me of the responsibility we have to the call of ministry on our lives. I will forever think of the "Purple Moment" and smile for there were times you had to simply put your foot down and say NO but I understood the heart behind the voice and I had to come back to you with, "thank you 😂😜". Your sermon Jan 9th was RESISTING THE PHENOMENON OF THE GREAT RESIGNATION, you said the COVID crisis has many turning away from God but would trust Him and serve Him until you die. As you spoke you encouraged me so, for your love for God and the things of God never allowed you to operate more in fear than in FAITH. Thank you for your model and thank you even the more for your forever imprint in my life that compels me to pick up the mantel and trudge forward in determination and Faith. Declaring to ALL who will listen that there is a God who reigns, who rules and revives. I will resist this great resignation, I won't give in and I won't quit. I too will serve and trust the Lord UNTIL I DIE. Why, because death is no longer our story, it is OUR GAIN!!!!!!!!🙌🏾 Love you forever. Tonya

Him sitting on his now mother in laws front porch & declaring he was going to marry my cousin Gloria after he married me & Neil Rouse, & he also did my mothers eulogy. & you did marry Gloria a year later. Mike you will forever be in my heart. Thank you for bringing so much joy into all of our lives. RIP & know that God's got you, this family & whomever lives you have touched.
