Evangelist Barbara Bigelow Wyatt was born July 23, 1939 in Caswell County to Myrtle Thaxton Bigelow & James Bigelow. She attended Central High School in Graham, NC. She was married to Herman Brown. She had 3 children Ann Brown Ford, Elder Herman Brown Jr and Melvin Brown. Barbara was a very proud Grandmother of 9 grandchildren & 13 Great Grandchildren.
Evangelist Barbara Bigelow Wyatt worked at Western Electric for many years. She relocated to Greensboro, NC where she worked and retired from Endura Products. As a child she was a member of Sweet Gum Baptist Church where she established her faithful and true love for the Lord. During her time Evangel Bigelow Wyatt traveled and served many churches preaching and sharing her love for the lord with many others that were not only friends, they became her family.
Barbara was known for her upbeat personality & her readiness to tell the whole world about Jesus. She enjoyed spending time with her Daughter Ann, going out to lunch for a fish filet sandwich & an ice cream cone & also going to church with her son Herman & his family. She looked forward to spending time with family as much as she could. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren. She spent a lot of her time shopping at Danville Mall or Four Seasons Mall all while preaching the word to anyone that she would come into contact with. Barbara never met a stranger. It was never a moment that you didn’t see her in her Sunday’s best. She took pride in how she looked. Barbara also loved to dance and sing as she made it her duty for all of her grands & great grands to know “how much is that doggy in the window”. She was all around a joy to be around. She was full of anointing & made it clear that as long as she had King Jesus, she would be alright. She made sure that she never said goodbye. Instead, she would tell you that she loved you & there was nothing you could do about it!
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Herman Brown, son Melvin Brown, grandson Brandon Nick, her mother Myrtle Thaxton Bigelow and her father James Bigelow, 2 brothers - James Haston Bigelow, Willie Gene Bigelow and a sister, Dorthy Bigelow Enoch.
