Wallace Russ was born March 7, 1954, to Arthur and Joyce Tanner Russ. Wallace grew up in Jackson County. He entered eternal rest on January 9th at home surrounded by his family. He was 70 years old.
He attended the public schools of Jackson County. He joined Mt. Olives A.M.E. Church at an early age, where he embraced his faith.
Wallace was a quiet man, not one of many words, but his actions spoke volumes. He was a loving father, a caring grandfather, a devoted brother, and a beloved uncle. Wallace worked in construction for many years until his health began to decline.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Joyce Russ, his son, Wallace Eugene Russ Sr., and his granddaughter, Kimora Russ.
Wallace leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his children, Angeline Russ and Letitia Russ, both of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren: Kiara, NuQuan, Kamaria, Niyana, Tadaizha, and Fatonio; two sisters, Emma Brooks of Panama City, FL, and Shirley Merritt of Cottondale, FL, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and caring friends.
A public viewing will be Friday, January 17th at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel from 3-6pm. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 18th at 12 noon at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend De’Ron Johnson, Reverend Angela Johnson and Deacon Ronnie Johnson officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna. Deacon Ronnie Johnson officiating.
