I Michael Garner Gysgt Ret, served with Gysgt Walker at Cherry Point CFR.I am also dumbfounded and shocked to hear of his passing, like everyone that spoke of him and his legacy spoke of great Marine, leader and husband. Everyone touched on everything I wanted to say, he'll be truly missed, Semper Fi Tyrone you're in Gods hands. Gysg Garner1994-1997 (Ret)
I served with Tyrone in Hawaii. In the early 80's while where both on the same section early on in the beginning he was a fair and honest NCO who to the time to instruct the junior Marines on how to be the best they could be. I have not thought about Tyrone until just recently and was just dumbstruck upon learning of his passing. My God grant his family peace and understanding in this difficult time ππΌππΌππΌ prayers and God bless
My deepest sympathies. I served under Tyrone at Cherry Point. A fine man who I really respected. May God keep you and Bless you. Respectfully, Eric Wolf
Sorry for your loss it's been lots of years sence I've heard from. I remember Tyrone from a kid in Ivanhoe his first bike that Red Indian and his first love Nelly. β€οΈ Prayers to your family. "Boobie" aka Andreum Patikas
A finer man I have yet to meet. Although the age difference was minor, he was a father, guide, brother, mentor, friend and a born leader. I know, once proven, he trusted his Sergeants. With Bruce and Me, he was crazy or a believer. I loved him from day one. He was my section leader and we deployed to 29 Palms together. If he is not missed by anyone else, I will truly miss him. Go easy Bro. Semper Fi!
I was lucky to work for and around Gy Walker as a young LCpl at Cherry Point 93-96. Awesome balance of calm confidence, would always teach and explain when he could. I really learned "attention to detail" watching him detail his black Camaro. Meaning he was always very detailed while working but on the weekends he detailed his car like a lot of us but he would put wax under the nose bra and leave it but only right up to the edge. I asked him why he did that and he explained that the wax protected the paint underneath from scratching but didn't want it to show past the edge. Those actions really explained alot to me about why he was the leader he was. Great Marine who helped give me a great foundation. Aloha Gy Walker!!!!!! I appreciated and did my best to emulate some of your traits during my career!! Rest Easy Brother β€οΈπ€πΌ Lance Rice/ MSgt Ret.
My sincere condolences to his family. Like many others I served with Walker many years at Cherry Point. He always had an amazing smile on his face and he made the long nights on shift work more enjoyable. He will be missed

GySgt Tyrone Walker and I served together during two tours at MCAS Cherry Point. The later, from 92-95 we both lived on base in staff housing and worked Crash Fire and Rescue, Section 1, together. I was his Assistant Section Leader. We grew up together as crew members and later leading a Section. He was a teacher, a man-of unwavering principle, a solid morale compass, and a tireless hard worker. I learned from him and we supported each other as co-workers and friends. His smile, sense of humor, light in the darkness personality, and easy going demeanor made him a natural leader. I will always remember our time shared.
God speed Tyrone, T, Walker T, Walker...my friend.
Nellie and family, we send our deepest sympathy, love, thoughts, and prayers.

RIP to a follow crash Crew member. Cherry Point Crash Crew 1969-1973.
I met Mr Walker in 2001, and it was his Love Addiction for motorcycles that bonded our friendship. My most fond memory of Mr Walker was his drag racing stories in Gary IN while riding his two-stroke. As he told it, he was known as "Chain-saw". Mr Walker you will truly be miss, bu never forgotten.
