My deepest condolences to the West family. I treasure my memories of the years we taught and coached at Havelock High School. There is no way to count the sporting events we attended during those years. Alvisa, "June Bug", and Christa had no better a supporter than their mom. I am sadden that Myrtle has left us so soon. Alvin, Alvisa, Krista and Family. I so enjoyed working for years at Havelock High. I was deeply saddened to see this news on Facebook. Myrtle was a wonderful person who will be greatly missed but it is heavens gain. Her last breath on earth was her first in heaven. That is so valuable just knowing one day you will be reunited. She and "June Bug" are having a glorious celebration. I have always admired your family and know your heart is broken. Lean heavily in God. We are so sorry to hear the passing of Mrs. West. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. When I first moved to Havelock in 1983, Mrs. West was my home room teacher at HHS. She was always welcoming then and even when I would see her in the years to follow graduation, her welcoming spirit was always there. May she always be remembered for her amazing gift of teaching.
