I worked with Mike the first time he was at the Salisbury VA. Then he left us to join the VBA family in Winston. I can take a little credit for bringing him back to our Salisbury family when I choice him for his new role. I sat along beside of him and trained him in his new position and I became, not only his co-worker but his friend. I don't think I ever saw him when he didn't have a smile on his face. Truly a pleasant and caring man. You will be missed dearly. Love and prayers to his family. T Barber
I got the chance to meet and work with Mike this year. He was very professional and kind. He was the person with punctuality, sincerity, and dignity. A favorite memory I have is He would stop by to correspond with my coworker and would take a piece of candy after lunch. My coworker took a new position in New York leaving me (the new person) by myself in the office. Even though we did not work on the same material he would still come by occasionally to take some candy and it made me feel included and befriended. I will keep you all in my prayers. Kindly accept my deepest condolence. -Coworker Emily Elliott

When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do, You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears, But be thankful we had so many good years. I gave you my love, and you can only guess How much you've given me in happiness. I thank you for the love that you have shown, But now it is time I traveled on alone. So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must Then let your grief be comforted by trust That it is only for a while that we must part, So treasure the memories within your heart. I won't be far away for life goes on. And if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear All my love around you soft and clear And then, when you come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home". My condolences and prayers to the Cook family -Stephanie Grover-Brock Tampa Florida
Seems so unreal. I remember the day you came ion to be a part of Raleigh Bn. I also remember the day your little girl was born and that smile on your face. Living without you will be hard for the family but all the good memories will give them something to treasure - Sadie McCausley-Beadle
