Obituary For Jimmie Smith

Jimmie Lewis Smith, 68, of 1322 Hunters Rd. New Bern died Monday, June 5, 2017 at his residence.

His funeral service is 11:00 AM Monday, June 12, 2017 at Oscar's Memorial Chapel. 1700 Oscar Drive. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.

He was a 1966 graduate of J. T. Barber High School and received a BA degree from Medgar Evers College, Brooklyn, New York. He was formerly employed by the New York City Transit Authority as a Station Agent. He is survived by his wife, Rosalyn R. Smith of Bronx, NY; three daughters, Tiombe Mayfield of Brooklyn, NY, Lakia Forbes of New York, NY and Nkenge Mayfield, Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing Monday an hour prior to the service.
