Jesse Edward Parker, 72, of New Bern died Monday, January 15, 2024 at ECU Health Inpatient Hospice.
His service is 11:00 AM Monday, January 22, 2024 at St. John M. B. Church 1130 Walt Bellamy Dr. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Selina Parker of the home; his mother Nellie Gray Parker of New Bern; two brothers, Reverend Jimmy Payton, Wilson, NC and Robert Koonce, Jr. of Bronx, NY; one grandchild and two great- grandchildren.
It's been nearly a year since you transitioned into rest. We miss you dearly and cherish the wonderful memories we created together. I miss your words of wisdom and your cheerful spirit. I am thankful for the time we had with you and Mrs. Deborah. I will always be grateful and never forget the love shown from day one. While material possessions can be destroyed or fade, our memories will endure forever. Jess, we love and miss you dearly. Love,the Jones family.

I met Jesse well over 30 years ago. We used to sit and talk about some very deep subjects and he was always such a kind and generous person. He was definitely passionate in his stances.
