Iris Godette

I was heartbroken to hear about Iris's sudden passing. I will always remember the warmth and kindness she extended to me when she interviewed me back in 2015. Our conversations over the years always brought a smile to my face, as it was clear how deeply she cherished her family. Please know that my prayers are with the family and the entire team during this incredibly difficult time. Iris will be missed dearly.

Words cannot express the sadness I feel at the transition of my dear friend Iris. My sincerest condolences to the Fisher and Godette families. Iris was like a sister to me, from growing up next to her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herb and Zelmyra Fisher in James City community, to our matriculation to NCState, and then to our homes being close to each other in Bowie, MD. I was so looking forward to her recovery and rehabilitation as I visited with her in the hospital after the accident and she was getting better. We laughed and reminisced for about an hr. I'm going to miss you which is why this is difficult for me to understand. How we met was only divine my God an I am so grateful for our union. When I lost my mother you made yourself so available to me even while dealing with your own grief. We never got to do lunch again but just know I will forever cherish what you have been in my life. Take your rest as you have finally got to be with the two most important people in your life once more and again. I love you

So sorry to hear about the passing of Iris, we grew up together and went to at NC State together, she will be missed. Condolences to her family and friends!

We send our sympathy to the Godette family. (Families from Washington Street ❤️) Iris was a childhood friend who grew up on Washington Street. We all played together and shared each other friendship. The Goodings Richsrdson, Godette, Bland, Smith, White, Morgan, Pugh, Guion, Barnwell, Britts/Staten families knew each other and had a strong bond during our younger years. Iris Godette was a quiet young lady. She will be truly missed. 🙏🏾
