Obituary For Donald Koonce, Sr.
Donald L. Koonce, Sr., 73, of 1439 Lincoln St., New Bern died Saturday, April 4, 2020 at his residence.
Gravside service is 2:30 PM, Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery 2200 East Rose St., New Bern. A walk thru viewing is Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the mortuary.
He is survived by his son, Donald L. Koonce, Jr. of New Bern; three, sisters, Janet Bonner, Brenda Simmons, Cynthia Patrick all of New Bern; Latham Simmons, Jr., Florida; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren.
Due to the Coronavirus all services are following the Governor's guidelines of 6 ft. apart and a limit of 50 Family members.

He was a lovely man he always keep a smile on his face
It's been almost 6 months he got weary.I'm 66 and as a child I grew up with May Lizzy and Donald as a couple.Today they are a couple again.Sometimes we say sorry for your loss when actually we mean we're sorry for the pain the loss is causing you.I can only imagine the smile that Donald has now.. Be blessed family Donald was a sweet spirit that I remember from my childhood.
