Sending Our Extended Condolences to the Family. May God of all Comfort, Strengthen. & Keep Each of You during this most difficult time. 💜 Willie Jr & Rose Evans
I came to know you long before I finally met you, through the childhood stories of my nephews Spencer, DeShawn & Trey. "Aunt Lois" your house was known for kids, fun, and pallets on the floor. It is no wonder that the first time we met, you exuded gentleness and light. As I dressed for the funeral, I prayed for your children and extended family. I thanked God for your life and the example you were for your sisters, their children, and grandchildren, while reminding God of the light in your eyes, which only returns to us through the love of Christ. I assumed that you would have outlived most of your friends and that attendance would be light. How wrong I was, as the church was two-thirds full with men, women, boys, and girls of all ages. The setting was perfect as a saxophonist played the prelude as we attendants processed to see you one last time. I took my seat beside Larry as a jeweled tiara was symbolically carried down the isle and placed upon your head. Matrisce & Anthony rose, leaned over into the casket and kissed you one last time. Your eulogy was presented in testimonies to your life, love, friendship, and discipline – confirmations that we had each known the same "Lois." You would have been pleased: the pastor was strong and a new disciple came to Jesus that day; in celebration, the saxophonist led us out of the chapel in a New Orleans style funeral parade! Could you have asked for a better arrival into heaven!?
