David Alexander McKenzie was born on December 25, 1946 to Oliver McKenzie Sr. and Ida Mae Mathis McKenzie in Warner Robins, Georgia. He was educated in the public school system of Houston County.
David was a fun, loving, and caring person. At a early age, he was the manager of the men and women softball team as well as basketball. He worked at Grant's for several years before committing 40+ years to Cox Communications.
He was preceded in death by his four brothers: Oliver Jr., J.C., James, and Wesley McKenzie; six sisters: Darnell Lane, Ruby Wright, Ida Bell Mitchell, Estelle Nelson, Lugene Stubbs, and Mary Ann McKenzie.
David leaves four children: Wyndell McKenzie, Marquis McKenzie, Mikila McKenzie, and Maurice McKenzie; eight grandchildren: Cedric Hike, Tisha McKenzie, Shanell McKenzie, Dylan Williams, Marquis McKenzie, Jatavious Jackson, Makya Brooks, and Bella Williams; four great grandchildren: Kassidy Hillman, Kinsley Hillman, Keilani Stubbs, and Xavier Morton; one sister, Bernice Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

My deepest condolences to the McKenzie family. David was a True blessing to me and my Family.. He was the kindest person I knew. He would always show up for his grand daughters and myself. One memory sticks out the most is when I Graduated I invited him and he showed up to show his support. That truly touched my heart. He will be missed and he is always Loved. RIP David
