Obituary For Mother Susie Ferguson

"Mother," Susie R. Ferguson was born in Savannah, GA, on December 27, 1931, the daughter of the late Mr. Jim Roberts and Sister Maggie Roberts. At an early age, she became a member of United House of Prayer for All People. She later joined, Faith Temple Holiness Church, Fairfax, South Carolina. She later joined Nazarene Baptist Church where she served faithfully as an usher, missionary, secretary, president of the senior choir, and an excellent Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed teaching and sharing God's word, that was her greatest passion. She was a graduate of Fairfax Public School and worked at the Allendale County Hospital, retiring after thirty-eight years of service.

On January of 1954, she married the love of her life, the late Judge Rufus E. Ferguson. "Mother" Ferguson had a heart of giving and sharing with everyone. She loved cooking and studying her bible. Another favorite hobby was her passion for "gardening." Mother Ferguson was a deaconess, and she was also a member of Fidelity Chapter #40 OES, Allendale, South Carolina. In addition, to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Judge Rufus E. Ferguson and her only sister Virginia Williams.

On Sunday, August 4, 2019, God said, "Well Done thy good and faithful Servant, you have fought a good fight, you have finished the race and have kept the faith. Come on home my child and take your rest."

Her passing has left a deep void in the hearts of her devoted children whom she adored and loved dearly, along with a host of cousins and many dear friends.

Mother Ferguson leaves to cherish her fond memories: Her two daughters: Joyce Manuel and Patricia (James) Highsmith, both of Fairfax, South Carolina;Four grandchildren: Darryl Ferguson, Carlos Manuel, both of Fairfax, South Carolina, Tonia Manuel, Savannah, Georgia, and Andre (Shonia) Singleton, Greenville, South Carolina; One adopted grand-daughter; Cheyenne (Celvin) Mitchell, North Augusta, South Carolina; Nine great-grands; Dre'sha and Andre Singleton Jr., both of Greenville, South Carolina, Carla Capers, Winnsboro, South Carolina, Hakeem and Hennessy Ferguson, both of Fairfax, South Carolina, Natasha and Carlos Manuel, Jr., both of Fairfax, South Carolina; Carliesha Badger and Tiveisha Badger both of Fairfax, South Carolina; Six great-great grands; Carter Manuel, Christiana Robinson, and Harmony White, Fairfax, South Carolina, Brianna and Bruno Boulware both of Winnboro, South Carolina; D'Nariaa Smith; Special cousins; Stedman Miley and Elouise (Tiny) Reed, Fairfax, South Carolina; Spiritual daughters; Yvonne Cohen and Lorriane Williams, both of Fairfax, South Carolina.

Services was held Saturday, August 10, 2019, 11 A.M., at Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church; Rev. Glenn Orr, Officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
