Mr. Robert Vickers Sr, 83, of Albany, Georgia departed this life on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at his residence in Albany, Georgia.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the Greater 2nd Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 103 Dewey Street, Albany, Georgia.
Interment will follow in the Floral Memorial Gardens, 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, Georgia 31707.
Robert Vickers was born on March 3, 1942, to the late J.Y. and Pecola Vickers in Dothan, Alabama the oldest son of eleven children.
He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 26 and served as a proud proud Marine for over 20 years retiring as a First Sergeant, a proud honor. After retirement, he worked with civil service for over 14 years. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work ethic, dedication, and passion for helping others.
In his free time, he enjoyed being outside growing vegetables in his backyard garden and was eager to share his knowledge and wisdom with others.
Robert is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carolyn D. Vickers; children, Lisa Graves of N. Jersey, Robert Vickers, Jr., of Maryland, and Vincent Vickers of Rome, Georgia; and three grandchildren. Robert’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

Some people come into your life and leave abruptly, others come, and leave an everlasting impression and will be remembered for all of the things they said, accomplished, and achieved. Mr. Vickers will be remembered for so many reasons. He was a good man, true to his word, very rare breed. Praying for Mrs. Vickers and family. Rest in love, Mr. Vickers. Job, Well Done.
