Mother Lu Jackson, 93, of Albany, Georgia departed this life Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. in the 3rd Kiokee Baptist Church, 521 Carver Ave, Albany, GA 31701.
Interment will follow in the New Salem Baptist Church, 9925 Stage Coach Road, Baconton, Georgia 31716.
Mother Lu Jackson, 93 years of age, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital of Albany, Georgia surrounded by her family. Ms. Lu Jackson was a warrior for her children.
A dedicated mother that raised thirteen children; eleven sons and two daughters.
Ms. Lu Jackson was a praying mother who loved everyone and who prayed for everyone. She also had a strong Christian faith in the Lord. She was a dedicated member of Oakridge Baptist Church for many years, where she served faithfully until her health declined.
She was preceded in death by her three sons, John Jackson, Samuel Jackson, and Charlie Jackson. Her mother Ms. Annie Roberts and father Mr. Wilson Jackson; two sisters, Mary Hall and Enanna Johnson; and three brothers, Mr. Willie Frank Jackson, Paradise Jackson, and Warren Davis.
She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Joe (Janice) Jackson of Augusta, Ga., Paradise (Irene) Jackson of Albany, Ga., Arthur Jackson of Albany, Ga, Nathaniel (Sadie) Jackson of Camilla, Ga., and Janice Jackson Bradford of Rome, GA, Diane Jackson, Ulysses Jackson, Curtis (Tammy) Jackson, Larry Jackson all of Albany, Ga. and Melvin (Valerie) Jackson of Atlanta, Ga, GA; sister, Mattie Lunsford, daughter-in-law, Wilhemenia Jackson both of Albany, Ga., and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and greatgreat-grandchildren.
