Obituary For Dea. Frederick Quimbley

Dea. Frederick “Freddie Q” Quimbley, 66, of Leesburg, Georgia and formerly of Camilla, Georgia departed this life Friday, September 8, 2023 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 901 S. Westover Blvd., Albany, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Floral Memory Gardens, 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, Georgia.

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation at the funeral home Friday, September 15, 2023 from 5-7 PM.

Frederick “Freddie Q.” Quimbley was born March 27, 1957 in Camilla, Georgia to the late Sylvester and Jessie Bell Quimbley. He peacefully departed this life on September 8, 2023 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia while surrounded by his loving wife, children, other family members, and friends. He is preceded in death by two brothers-Larry Quimbley, and Charles (Alice) Riggins; and two sisters - Vera (Jimmy) Gilbert, and Eloise Quimbley.

“Freddie Q” accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age at Open Door Church of Praise in Camilla, GA under the leadership of Pastor Joe R. Thomas before joining Mount Zion Baptist Church of Albany, GA., under the pastoral leadership of Dr. Daniel Simmons. He was a very active and faithful member serving in the capacity of Deacon and in the Brotherhood Ministry.

“Freddie Q” was a proud graduate of the Mitchell County High School Class of 1975 in Camilla, Georgia. He went on to further his education at Albany Technical College in the studies of Commercial Truck Driving. Over the years, “Freddie Q.” was employed at Hercules Bumpers, Inc. (Pelham, Georgia), Cooper Tire & Rubber Company (Albany, Georgia), Mount Zion Baptist Church (Albany, Georgia), House of Styles Barber Shop, and Quimbley’s Barbershop.

“Freddie Q.” married his loving and devoted sweetheart, Keva S. Quimbley on March 11, 1995. Together they enjoyed traveling. They also enjoyed attending and watching sporting events – especially - THE Albany State University and Atlanta Falcons Football games! In his leisure time“Freddie Q.” enjoyed motorcycling, rebuilding and racing cars, cutting hair, listening to all genres of music, dancing, and spending time with his family.

To know “Freddie Q.” was to love him. He truly loved and adored his wife, children, siblings, extended family, friends, and his church family.

Left to cherish “Freddie Q.’s” precious memories are his loving, dedicated, and devoted wife Mrs. Keva S. Quimbley; his loving children:Fundrail (Pamela)Quimbley Sr. (Albany, Georgia), Dr. Taneshia L. Knight (Loganville, GA), Frederick Quimbley Jr.
(Washington, DC), Nedavia N. Harris (Locust Grove, GA), Audrea (Phillip) Williams (Atlanta, GA), Dasha (Aliyahu) Yah (Shayla)(Portsmouth, VA), D’Erika (Akiba) Quimbley (Leesburg, GA), and Kederick D. Quimbley (Macon, GA); his thirteen adorable grandchildren: Bryce Burley, Noah Shelton, Kaidence Harris, Calvin Parks, Corey Parks, Fundrail Quimbley Jr., King Grimsley, Marcus Burkes, Grayson & Gracee Williams, Aliyahu Yau, Aliyahnu Yah and Neriyah Yah; his two brothers: Sylvester Quimbley Jr., and Craig White (both of Camilla, GA); his two sisters: W. Pearl Quimbley (Camilla, GA) and Amanda (Alonzo) Morman (Baconton, GA); his three affectionate and loving sisters-in-law: Virginia Quimbley and Deborah Childs (both of Camilla, GA), and Carolyn (Hillard) Whitehead Atlanta, GA); his three brothers-in-law: Robert Sweet Stockbridge, GA), Pastor Joe (Barbara) Childs (Pelham, GA), and Brian Childs, Gainesville, FL., five God- Children: A’neriah Wimberly, Kylie Williams, Ryan Canidate, Jaycey Jones and Sedquita Roundtree whom he spoiled and adored; his prayer warriors Claude and Irene Williams (Albany, GA); and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends
