Uncle John was dear to our family. He was always concerned about his brother's children and their well being. After Eddie and I were married in 1981, he treated me as his niece. He and Aunt Juliette kept a close watch on Eddie and I through all of his hospitalizations. I love them both. I will miss his wisdom so much. God's infinite wisdom will keep you comforted just knowing how well he lived and we will see him again if we follow the path that he led us toward. Sylvia Phillips

To The Phillips family and mine. Words are inaccurate to express my feelings about Uncle John. He was a kind and humble person who was always willing to assist you with any endeavor. He was always there for me after being adopted into the family. He never treated me as an outsider, When I visited with him and Auntie Juliet, I had no restrictions in their home and whatever I saw or needed, they would provide it to me. I have a lot of fun memories of Uncle John and these memories will keep him a special place in my heart. Our loss but Heaven gain. Love to the Family. Martha S. Dozier

Hi Phillips family, we are sorry we will not be there with you to celebrate Uncle John's Homegoing We pray God will hold you up and give you strength to be strong during during this difficult time.
I was 18 years old when Uncle John showed me how to use a travel map, legend and all. Six years later, my husband wanted to relocate to Virginia. I had to help him with directions and I could do that. My Foster Mom, Irene Beavers, moved from Birmingham, AL to Montgomery, AL. and I found her house with her address. I had never been to the house in Montgomery. She was surprised to see me. She asked me how did I find her. I said with the address and a map. I explained that Uncle John taught me how to read a map. That was long before Map Quest and Google Maps came into existence. Thank you Uncle John for that valuable lesson.
With Highest Regards and Respect, Deacon and Deaconess William and Charion Brown and grands, Anessa and Keiondrey Browm
