Hey Jim,

I wish I could've spoken to you before you went, and that I could have let you know how much I appreciated you being in my life. Besides my biological father you were the closest thing to a role model I ever had growing up. I'll always remember you and what you did for me and my siblings growing up. You used to call us your kids and deep down, I at least, considered you our stepdad. I'll see you on the other side.

I am Angel, "Carlito", Gonzalez. Jimmy, saved my life with boxing. He was my surrogate father, Mentor, and boxing coach. Together we'd go on to win two New York State Empire gold medals. Our relationship, and for the sport of boxing was one that was built on love & tyrant hate. But what had manifested was a relationship second to none. He will always be my, "Pops." A legend whom would aspire, and enlighten the meek, and weak with strong love. For the pandemic separated us, but not forever. I never forgot what we had, and will always have; even after death. I love you so much! ... Until we meet once again in the clouds, "Champ!" Rest in peace. Amen.
