Evelyn Robinson was born on November 16, 1958, in Blytheville, Arkansas to Charlie and Mary Brookshire Robinson. She departed from this life on October 25, 2023, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas surrounded by family and friends who love her dearly.
Evelyn was a graduate of South Pemiscot High School and student at Mississippi County Community College. Evelyn was a faithful member of New St. Paul Church, Steele, Missouri under the leadership of Dennis Moore until her health began to fail. She served as choir member, church secretary, and on various boards and committees. She also served on the South Pemiscot School Board. Evelyn had a heart of gold and was very passionate about helping people. She loved to cook and found joy being employed at the Yum-Yum Drive Inn and later helping with the family business, The Robinson Curve Café in Steele, Missouri. She coordinated the Annual Charlie Robinson Christmas for over a decade where she, along with friends and family distributed hot meals to the tri-state community on Christmas Day. Evelyn was a strong fighter, fearless and independent. She had a very close and personal relationship with Jesus and prayed faithfully with her prayer group each morning. During her stay in the hospital, she never failed to enter praise and worship, giving thanks to Jesus. She will be truly missed but God has other plans for her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Robinson, mother, Mary Robinson, and one sister, Johnnie Pearl Rogers.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Trakeyla (Edward) Rhodes of Blytheville, Arkansas, one son, Demetrius (Starla) Johnson, Sr, of Indianapolis, Indiana; , four grandchildren, Demetrius Johnson, Jr., and Madeline Johnson both of Kennett, Missouri, Eliza Johnson of Indianapolis Indiana, , and Payton (Bethany) Rhodes of Conway, Arkansas; two sisters, Gloria (Alandis) Boyd of Steele Missouri, and Anita (Rashid) Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri; and one brother, Marvin (Debra) Robinson also of Kansas City, Missouri; three aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
