Obituary For Frederick Douglas Moore

Frederick D. Moore was born November 20, 1943 in Blytheville, Arkansas to John and Hettie Margerum Moore. He was a 1961 graduate of Richard B. Harrison High School and was an active member of Harrisonites. Following graduation, he enrolled in Saints Junior College in Lexington, Mississippi there he received his Associates Degree. Enlisting in the United States Army, Frederick was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a bus driver for the Chicago Transit Authority, when he retired and moved back to Blytheville, Frederick worked for BNSF Railroad as a driver and drove many church buses; transporting church members to plays in Chicago, church fellowships in Texas and safely transported his church family on Sunday to worship services. He was a faithful and dutiful member of Promiseland Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Johnny Moore. On Sunday, January 17, 2021 Frederick was called from labor to reward at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 77. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elder John Moore, and Mother Hettie Margerum Moore, one brother, Julius Moore, and a sister Janava Moore. Frederick is survived by his loving wife, Floyd Jean Moore of the home; two sons, Eric (Lara) Anderson of Redlands, California; Michael (Savanna) Moore Gardner of Chicago, Illinois; two bonus sons, James Sanders of Los Angeles, California, and Harry ( Angela) Sanders of Jeffersonville, Indiana; one bonus daughter, Crystal Sanders of Grand Rapids, Michigan; a grandson that he raised, Ja’Marion Bell of the home; three brothers, Norvell Moore of Marietta, Georgia; Benjamin (Annette) Moore of Blytheville, Arkansas; and Superintendent Johnny (Anita) Moore also of Blytheville, Arkansas; four sisters, Carol Washington of Blytheville, Arkansas; Alfreda (Emos) Parham of Aurora, Colorado; Precious Moore of Blytheville and Earnestine Ray also of Blytheville, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews of other relatives and friends. A walk-through visitation will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00 at McDonald-Horne Funeral Home, 1207 South Division, Blytheville, Arkansas. Private funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Promiseland Church of God In Christ, 2141 South Hwy 61, Osceola, Arkansas. Superintendent Johnny Moore will deliver the eulogy with burial to follow in Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery. In accordance with the State of Arkansas and CDC guidelines as related to COVID-19 the practice social distancing will be observed. Face masks are required to enter the building and must be worn at all times. Funeral services will be streamed live on Facebook at McDonald-Horne Funeral Home. McDonald-Horne Funeral Home is incharge of all services and arrangements.
