Douglas Alexander Swatson was born November 13, 1965 in Hughes, Arkansas to Moses and Willie Mae Sawyers Swatson. He was a member of Gospel Temple Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Dr. Charles Thomas. Preceded in death by his parents and one brother Harry, Douglas passed away Thursday March 30, 2021 in his home at the age of 55. Douglas leaves to cherish the memories, his wife Muriel Jones Swatson of Blytheville, Arkansas; one son, Douglas Swatson, Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Quneesia Swatson also of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, Joe Sawyers of Friars Point, Mississippi; two sisters, Pamela (Frank) Scofield of Marion, Arkansas; and Pearletha Swatson of Fayetteville, North Carolina; six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Visitation will be held Friday April 9, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00 in the chapel of McDonald-Horne Funeral Home, 1207 South Division Street, Blytheville, Arkansas. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Gospel Temple Church of God In Christ, 1108 David Lane where Dr. Charles Thomas is the pastor. Dr. Thomas will deliver the eulogy with burial to follow in Sandy Ridge Cemetery. We are requesting that the practice of social distancing and wearing face masks are observed during the visitation and funeral service.
