VERONICA LEE JOHNSON was born in Bronx, New York to the late Walter Garner and the late Corine (Fowler) Garner and grew up on the “West Side” of Steelton and in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
She received her formal education from the Harrisburg School District and was a graduate of the former William Penn Senior High School class of 1962.
Veronica, also known as “Ronnie”, worked as an Auto Worker for General Motors (GM) and worked in nursing; in hospitals as well as private duty nursing for over 30 years.
In Ronnie’s leisure, she liked to play cards, crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble with her friend, Ms. Vickie and gathering with friends and family. During football season, Veronica would be rooting for her favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, GO Black and Gold!!!
Veronica was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and attended regularly until her health prevented her from attending service.
She was a PROUD mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her visits from her grandchildren and always smiled when the great grands came to visit.
