Obituary For Randy Gray

Randy Allan Gray, son of the late Thomas “Pap or Scrappy” W. Gray and Shirley “Dolly” McIntyre, was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

Carrying on his father’s well-beloved nickname for his own grandchildren to call him, “Pappy” or “Pap” was loved all around. He attended Glendale School District in Flinton, PA where he sought out friends who turned family, and lessons into leisure. Randy was and remained a hard worker all his life since 82’. He was a man of many trades. As one would say, “Doer of all, master of none”.

In his down time, he enjoyed watching wrestling, what we all are familiar with as WWE. Anytime he wanted to go back a few years, he’d watch his western movies and recline back as he sipped his favorite soda, Mountain Dew. If you tried to catch him at home, good luck. Randy enjoyed being outside, and fishing taught him patience and gave him peace. Although Randy never really had much to say, he always knew where his witty remarks would fit in small conversation. Even if you didn’t plan on laughing, he’d make you chuckle in an instant. As a man of many travels, he found his way back home to Harrisburg, PA where he spent much of his life.

Randy A. Gray was able to celebrate his last birthday at 60 years old before he departed this life into the next on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Reclining one more time, he rested peacefully in the comfort of his own home in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his granddaughters, Kendall Sue Miller and Karoline Rose Miller. He leaves behind many loved ones; including siblings of his own and surviving several spouses, each of whom played a significant role in his life’s journey. Mourning his life are his children; Aaron Straw, Amber McClellan, Autumn Miller and his “baby” as Randy would always mention to everyone, Christina Tran-Gray. Behind are his many grandchildren; Jacob Straw, Katherine Miller, MacKenzie and Colton McClellan and Charlie Nauss - the one who called him “Pap Pap”. Randy leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and many others who have turned into family along the way.

Rest in peace, dear Dad, as you cast your line in the eternal waters above.
