Marc T. Hawkins-Childs, of Hummelstown, passed away peacefully on February 1st, 2025, at the age of 60. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Louis Hunter Childs and the late Elaine Hawkins-Childs.
After graduating from Steelton Highspire High School in 1982, Marc entered the Army and completed bootcamp at Fort Dix, New Jersey in 1982 and served 6 years of service to his country and received an Honorable Discharge. He spent his working career as a plant operator at Hershey Foods. In his younger years, Marc enjoyed many sports and became an outstanding wrestler in high school and in the Army. He enjoyed music, gardening, grilling, loved gadgets and his cats. He was an avid Oakland Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles football fan.
In addition to his parents, Marc was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa A. Childs McDuffie and is survived by his wife, Theresa D. Childs (Ritter) of Hummelstown; his brother, Jeffrey Childs; his sister, Kelli Childs; his aunt, Carrie Hawkins; his two daughters, Alysse Childs and Sharay Childs; his six grandchildren, Mia Saucedo, Aveyona Johnson, Dewayne Johnson, Keiyana Johnson, Adam Gibson III and Troy Gibson; his nephews, Frederick McDuffie, Louis Brown; his nieces, Monica McDuffie and Ilaynna Brown and many cousins and friends.
Marc had many friends and enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be forever remembered for his loving heart and great personality.
Family and friends are invited to the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, 704 N. Front Street, Steelton, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11th, 2025, for viewing and to reminisce and honor the life of Marc and service to begin at 12 Noon. Burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

MARC...that smile and those dimples..avid member of the SQUID's CORNER. Marc introduced his best to me who is now my best and the father of children. He always said I owe him...lol. Soft spoken but always heard...will miss you for sure. CLASS OF 82 classmate. RIP
