JOHN “WAYNE” CHISM, 64, peacefully transitioned from this earthly life into eternal life at the Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Shirley Chism Ford and the late Samuel Ford, was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. John received his formal education in the Harrisburg School System and graduated from the former William Penn Senior High School. After high school, he entered the United States Army in 1978 and served his country honorably. After his honorable discharge, he returned to his hometown. During his working career, he held several jobs. John loved music, dancing and football. The San Fransico 49ers was his favorite team and he loved him some wrestling (WWE). He enjoyed life and the people in it. In addition to his parents, his two brothers, Eddie Chism and Samuel Ford and his two sisters, Barbara Ford and Brenda Chism preceded him in death. He leaves to celebrate his life and to cherish memories of him; his children, Duane Chism, Tamara Chism and Arthur Burnett and their mother, Nanette Burnett, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his sisters, Shirley Chism and Diane Valentine and husband, Brian Valentine; his brothers, Robert Chism and Lonnie Chism and wife, Barbara Chism, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his four grandchildren, Mar’kyl Madden, Soriah Chism, Armanie and Treasure Burnette; his close friends, Freddie McKinley and Charles Ray, both of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Larry Whitaker of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. John’s life will be celebrated on Thursday, March 31 at 12 Noon in the Sanctuary of Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church at 2447 Green St., Harrisburg with viewing 11:00 a.m.until 12 Noon and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. The Services will be live streamed via Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church YouTube Page and Color Logo Facebook Page. Arrangements entrusted to the Ministry of Comfort of Major H.
