Obituary For Edwin Boneta

EDWIN ANIBAL “PAPI” BONETA, affectionately known as “Papi” to his children and to everyone blessed to know him, born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Edwin’s journey through life took him between Puerto Rico and New York, ultimately settling in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Edwin was a man of many passions, including hunting, truck driving, and buying cars and properties. But his true purpose in life was being a father to his nine children. “Papi” loved deeply and tirelessly, ensuring his family stayed united and supported through all of life’s moments.

At the age of 76 years, Edwin Anibal Boneta, peacefully transitioned from this earthly life into eternal life on Thursday, January 16, 2025, in the peace and love of his home in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

He is survived by his children: David Boneta, Selena Boneta, Mathew Boneta, Edwin Boneta, Stephanie Boneta, Bryon Boneta, Michael Boneta, Peter Boneta and Steven Boneta. He is also remembered by Joanne Boneta, the mother of his older children, who shared a meaningful chapter of life with Edwin before he later shared his life with his late wife, Maria Rivera. Maria, who passed on January 19, 2018, was the love of Edwin’s life, and her loss left him with a broken heart. Now, after years apart, we find comfort in knowing that Edwin and Maria are reunited once more.

Edwin’s legacy of love, perseverance, and family will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.

His life will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton, followed by a repast at 800 Yale Street #102, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
