Obituary For Azar Hughes

Azar Ja'Hid Hughes, son of Cheryl Hughes and Arthur Houze, was born in Harrisburg, PA. He was affectionately known as "Clout boy ZAR" to family and friends. Azar attended Steelton Highspire High School and graduated from Britton Academy. He also was accepted into Central Penn college for basketball, which he loved to play.

He also loved to work and interacted with the Residents at the Jewish home. He loved his family especially his mother. He had an amazing spirit that brought a beautiful smile and sense of humor to your heart. He enjoyed spending time with family, playing video games and loved basketball. His favorite football team was the Kansas City Chiefs.

Azar transitioned into eternal life on July 5, 2024 at the age of 20 at the UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Cutiest France; paternal grandmother, Helen Houze; paternal grandfather, Henry House and bothers, Charles Tate and Malik Mundy. Azar leaves to cherish loving memories of him, his beautiful mother, Cheryl Hughes; his father, Arthur Houze; his companion, Anje' Lee; his stepson, Kaiden Lee; his godmother, Jodi Mc Ginness of Las Vegas, Nevada; his maternal grandmother, Lillian Beverly; his sisters, Sheanna Ingram, Jessica Tate, Mercedes Mundy and Ne'Vaeh Hughes; his nieces, Kee' Ayla Hosby-Tate and Esstiyanna Hughes; his nephews, Ke'sean Rowland, Larry Hosby, Keon Ingram, Juelz Soles, Troop Tate, Kingston Ingram, Na'mi Neeley, Malik Mundy, Jr., Noot Tate and Ricky Saunders, Jr.; his aunts, Stacey Hills, Christine Hughes, Tara Hughes, Shibela Moore and Marvella Goins; his uncles, Tyrone Flemming, Waltize Hughes, Connel Hughes and Jerome Hughes and host of other family members and friends.

His life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 in the Sanctuary of The Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 212 N. Progress Avenue, Harrisburg with viewing and visitation from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and burial in Paxtang Cemetery.
