Obituary For Amir Burnett

AMIR BURNETT was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Nyshell Traynham and Anthony Burnett, Jr. Amir was also blessed with another father, Troy Roberts, Jr. whom helped Nyshell rear him.

He was an eighth grade student at Norview Middle School in Norfolk, Virginia. He played football for the Norview Navigators.

Amir was so fun loving and was big on love and loyalty. He brightened any room he walked into. He loved spending time with his mom, dad and baby sister who act like she was his big sister.

Amir Burnett, at the age of 14 years, unexpectedly transitioned into eternal life on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandmother, Marie Eaton and his maternal great great grandmother, Marie McGuffin. He leaves behind his parents, Nyshell Traynham, Anthony Burnett, Jr. and Troy Roberts, Jr.; his siblings, Layla Roberts, Mekhi Burnett, Ka’Mauri Bates and Anthony Burnett III; his aunts, Tottayana Traynham, Iqualia Eaton, Shaquana C. Watson, Ania Traynham, Jimetta Colston, Aleasha Easter, Rakita Easter and Takia Easter; his uncles, Jabree Traynham and Jahlil Traynham; his grandmothers, Kristie Eaton and Biancha Tatum; his grandfather, Dennis Traynham; his great grandparents, Shelton and Karon Carr, Brenda Harbin and Anthony Jones; his extended grandparents, Nia Eden and Troy and Alease Roberts, Coren Russell Peggues and a host of cousins and family members who have been in his life forever giving him so much love.

Amir’s loving personality and the bright light he was in everyone’s life will be missed but forever with us in our hearts.

His life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023 at McLamb Memorial Church of The Living God, 5 N. 25th Street, Harrisburg with viewing and visitation 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and burial in East Harrisburg Cemetery.
