Alfred L. Whiting was born in Leesburg, Virginia to the late Margaret Elizabeth Whiting and reared by his mother and Joseph Proctor.
He was educated in the Harrisburg school district and was a 1968 graduate of the former John Harris High School.
During his working career, he was employed by the Commonwealth of PA-Department of Transportation and was the president of the AFSCME union #2534.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Sylvester Whiting and Leroy Whiting and Alfred leaves to celebrate his life, his sister, Mary Ann Whiting Brady; the Matriarch of the family, Courtney Harris; the Patriarch of the family, Claude Jackson and a host of other relatives and friends.
Alfred’s life will be celebrated with a private graveside service in Paxtang Cemetery.
